The winners can spend the whole day at the Ecoolska brand production and, together with designer Olska, create the next upcycling collection, which will also be sold at a charity auction in spring 2022.
The capsule collection was created by hand by designer Olska for charity. The collection was created from old second-hand clothes: from second hand stores, the Second Wind clothing recycling fund, and discount stores.
The fashion industry is responsible for 92 million tons of waste annually. To solve this problem, a new sustainable fashion paradigm has emerged–upcycling.
Upcycling means reimagining and reusing used items.
A creative approach is taken to upcycling – reworking (instead of throwing away) an item whilst preserving part of its original form. As a result, the item that has been upcycled gets a whole new life.
With our upcycling collection, we want to show how you can be fashionable without harming the environment.
0 meters of new fabric and 0 natural resources were used to make the items. All the raw materials – used clothes – had already been created, and we just transformed the design.
This is the 3R concept: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
The entire collection was created purely for charitable purposes under an annual campaign to help clean up the ocean from plastic and support social inclusion programs.
Our collection is vibrant, extravagant and daring, like a huge shimmering arrow pointing to a massive problem.
All proceeds will go to support organizations that tackle plastic pollution and promote inclusiveness.
The winners will have the opportunity to meet each other and the teams from Ecoolska and Zhuravlik.
Then when buying a lot you can send the money directly to an international charitable foundation – an engineering organization that has developed a technology to extract plastic waste from the oceans.
The large-scale extraction of plastic from the ocean is being carried out using innovative methods. All ocean plastic is recycled. The slogan of the organization is: Catch the plastic, rinse, recycle and repeat - until the oceans are clean.
We will help you transfer your money to the foundation when buying a lot.
Zhuravlik is a team of experts in the field of child and adolescent psychology, inclusion and behavioral therapy.
The experts develop and implement social programs aimed at inclusive education, the prevention of bullying and creation of a safe environment for children, both in the family and outside it.
Programs:
Bullying NET is an anti-bullying program for schools aimed at preventing bullying in children and teenagers.
Inclusive Capsule is a program to facilitate the inclusion of children with special academic needs in public schools.
«We are Against Violence is a program to help children who have suffered from violence in orphanages.
Zhuravlik's values are very much in line with those of Ecoolska, so we want to support the organization. And we hope we can count on your help!
20% of the total pollution in the oceans is from the fashion industry.
10% of all greenhouse gases are from the fashion industry.
35% of microplastics in the ocean are from synthetic fabrics
The production and dyeing of fabrics lead to the release of pesticides and chemicals into the water, as well as a billion tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere every year.
Synthetic fibers (polyester, nylon, acrylic) are made from plastic. Fast fashion clothing contains more than 60% of this type of fiber.
Thousands of microplastics come loose from such items during washing and then enter the water supply.
Every year, we produce 150 billion new garments.
This is accompanied by chemical emissions and the poisoning of soil, air and water.
We take the resources we need from nature and give back polluting waste.
In this model, we take the minimum of resources from nature and use them as many times as possible.
The old is recycled into the new, and so on.
